Perfect mornings are made of the aroma of freshly grounded beans and I think the workforce in Wisma E&C couldn’t agree more. Settled at the right wing of the lobby is Liberal Latte Coffee Trade Cafe, serving coffee and baked goods to battle against cranky mornings.
Founded by Dr Helmi, an electrical engineer by profession together with Mr Effendy Nadzri, the co-founder of Inches Design Works & founder of grind22bangsar cafe, the love for coffee has brought them together to bring Liberal Latte Coffee Trade to life. They believe every neighbourhood should have a place for a good cuppa and here they are in Damansara Heights! Just like any other business owners, Helmi and Effendy needed a place for meetings, so they’ve decided to open a cafe to host their meetings along with coffee.
We paid Liberal Latte a random visit and was greeted by the hospitable barista behind the counter. Quiet on afternoons, most patrons are here for small group meetings over coffee or students from the nearby Help University.
In a glance, the cafe isn’t exactly big but seats comfortably 10 to 12 people at the long communal table. If you’re escaping the cold in your office or from your boss, the seats by the window will be sure to keep you warm in the afternoon and lots of natural lights. When ahead with the usual drill and ordered latte over the counter. Unlike the other cafes where the menu is displayed above or on soggy sugar papers, the menu is framed up nicely at the counter (no more looking like giraffes pointing cluelessly on the overhead menu!). Prices are keen at a scan and on display, the cakes are rather tempting.
Glad that the hospitality did not stop behind the bar. The barista enthusiastically took our orders and offered to serve it to our table (top lad!). At the moment, they do not serve hot food apart from baked goods and coffee but rumour has it that they will be serving hot food real soon.
WiFi is available as I quickly dug into my work computer at the table and it didn’t take long for the latté to arrive. On the first sip, we personally think adequately-steamed milk, frothed to the right temperature, is commendable work and Liberal Latte has done it right. Bold body, toasty aroma and a balanced ratio of espresso and milk is absolutely what we need on a slow mid-week afternoon.
Whether you’re a visitor to Wisma E&C or just a walk-in patron, access to the building is relatively easy and parking is ample within the premise of the building. Pick up a GoCar in Bangsar for your cafe hop journeys or use public transport as Wisma E&C on Jalan Dungun is really accessible. Take the T634 from Bangsar LRT Station or if you’re using the newly opened MRT service, alight at the Semantan Station.
Despite small in size, we had a great time here and the hospitality extended to us made it better! If you work around Pusat Bandar Damansara, we think you should check out this neat place. Last we heard, they’re looking for another office block in Klang Valley to operate their next cafe. Perhaps at GoCar HQ itself? 🙂
